Are You Doing Enough to Protect Your Eyes?

The most vital organ of the body which goes un-noticed when it comes to taking care, but differentiates light from darkness is our eye’s. No person would like to live in darkness, nor can see him/her self in darkness. Now keeping this thought in mind we got to ask our selves the below questions-

Are we taking care of our eyes?

Are we providing them the required vitamins?

Are we aware of the current situation regarding their health?

For most of you’ll and specifically youngsters the answer will be a big “NO”.

This generation is all about using cellphone, watching TV, being on the computer and so on. Not like before when there was less or no use of these products, people had less of eye related problems. Since there is more use of these products it is vital to take preventive measures to protect your eyes.  
Today we will be telling you few tricks and suggestions on how to keep your eyes healthy and sharp for the rest of your lives.
Exercise for break time
The age old theory which is thought to school going children in India and one of the most powerful techniques is rubbing your palms together vigorously to create heat. As your palms get warm you have to place them over your eyes. This helps in relaxing your eyes and reducing strain.
Food Habits
Green food is the best for all the parts of the body. Food rich in vitamin A, vitamin C, lutein and beta carotene is very essential for the eyes. Also fruits like apricot, papayas, grapes and vegetables like spinach, sweet potatoes, Brussels sprouts, kale and collard greens are very good for the eyes.
Drink Water 
Water is very important for the body and so as to the eyes. If your eyes feel dry, blurry or tired, it is important that you intake water and keep your self hydrated. Splash water on your face by keeping your eyes open, this will help to refresh your self.   
Avoid Direct Sunlight 

Looking straight at the sun during noon time is very harmful. Experts advise that people should wear sunglasses that blocks around 99% of ultraviolet rays. Excessive exposure to ultraviolet rays can cause eye diseases like cataract and degeneration. 

Take Rest
As with most of the parts of the body, eyes also need to rest. Make sure that you are providing them enough rest so as to refresh and relax the eye muscles. It is vital that you get at-least 7 to 9 hours of sleep per night for your eyes to function at their best.
The 20-20-20 Trick 
20-20-20 rule is one of the most popular eye tricks in which after every 20 minutes you have to take a break of 20 seconds to focus your eyes on a particular thing which is 20 feet from you. It is a very good way to relax and calm your eyes. 
It is very important to keep your eyes healthy and the above few points will surely help you in the process. Another exercise that You can do is by rolling your eyes, then looking upwards gradually circle the eyes 10 times clockwise and then the same anti clockwise. Cucumber slices also play a vital role in cooling and reducing the pressure of the eyes.
